Manchester United makes final bid for Dimitrary Berbatov

Manchester United made the final bid for the Tottenham forward Berbatov worth £25million. Manchester United is the only team in the English Premier League to not have made even a single transfer in this summer transfer window. They had their eyes on a couple of players but they couldn’t finish any of it. One of their watches was Berbatov who was sensational in his last season at Tottenham Hotspur. He had wanted to leave the club in last season itself and he hasn’t yet played a game in the current season. So it has become clear that the club has ideas of selling him. This has made Manchester United to make a bid again after its previous bid was rejected. But this time Manchester United has made its mind and told that this is their final offer for the player. Manchester United team is facing injury crisis and its key players in Cristiano Ronaldo, Owen Hargreaves, Michael Carrick, Anderson, and Ryan Giggs all are missing the starting month of the season. Manchester United has a couple of tough away games in the following weeks when they have to travel to both Liverpool and Chelsea which could prove vital in their title race.

Real Madrid says Robinho: Pay 45 million and you can leave the club

Robinho made a public statement that he is unhappy in Real Madrid and he wants to leave the club for Chelsea as the English club was interested in the Brazilian. After this incident the club placed the player in the transfer market. Now the club has told that Robinho can buy his way out of the club on his own. The player wants to pay a sum of 45 million in order to join the club he wants. Inspite of all this speculation and drama the coach of the club has named Robinho in his team for the Super Cup match against Valencia. Both the teams have named their teams ahead of the tie that is played between the winners of the League cup and the championship in the previous season.

UEFA shortlists 20 players

Twenty players have been shortlisted for the UEFA club footballer of the year. Double Champions Manchester United has the most number of contenstants with six in number. Chelsea has five, Liverpool four , Arsenal and Barcelona a couple each and Schalke 04 has a single contestant. Of the 20 players shortlisted 17 are from the English clubs and this shows the dominance of the English football. The English clubs have been able to secure three out of the four postions in the semifinals of the Champions League matches for the past two years. Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool sensation Fernando Torres are having a chance of winning the award. The contestants are :

After much speculation Andriy Shevchenko has completed his move from Chelsea to A.C.Milan and the deal went as Milan wanted it . So both Milan and Andriy Shevchenko are very much happy. Andriy Shevchenko’s two year period in England has been very much disturbing for the player as he couldn’t shine in England. After the move was made official the first words that the player spoke was ” It feels as if I have won the Champions League” . The Ukranian has previously played for Milan from 1999-2006 and in the period he scored 127 goals in 208 games . In his Chelsea carrer the player scored 9 goals in 47 games .

Real Madrid: Robinho for sale

An unexpected twist in the transfer window as Real Madrid has officially announced that their player Robinho is now for sale as the player himself made a public statement that he wants to leave Real Madrid and join Chelsea as Chelsea are offering to buy the player. The team boss has earlier told that the player is not for sale on any cause. The player was a bit unhappy right from the start of the transfer window when Real Madrid used Robinho as a bargaining chip for the Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo. Later when the team failed to sign him the other English giant Chelsea made bid for Robinho and they increased their bids three times. Yesterday the player made a public statement that he wanted to leave the club and this made the club to put the player on the transfer window. Chelsea is ready to offer £28.4 million for the player.

La Liga Season Preview: Real Madrid

It’s time for the kick off the La Liga season next week and lets have a preview of the teams in the league now . To start with its Real Madrid. Real Madrid were the eventual champions last season for the record 31 st time and are the winners for the second consecutive season. Last season the team had a very good start with Real Madrid leading the pack in Spain with an impressive 100% home record looked a strong contender for the European title but the club slided to the bottom when it mattered the most . They lost seven of the ten games in all competitions in the month of February and March and were out of the Champions League. So the final result of the Championship came as a big relief to both the team,players and the fans.After the end of the season Real Madrid entered the transfer market with a high offer of record £100million for the Manchester United sensation Cristiano Ronaldo and were widely criticsed for the method of approach they followed. And they eventually failed in signing the player as the player stays at Old Trafford for atleast another season .

The biggest and the worthiest signing made by the team is the purchase of Van Der Vaart. The Dutch playmaker cost only €13 million from Hamburg, a very tiny sum for a talented and young player and best of all, there wasn’t any of the usual media frenzy or hullabaloo that accompanied his arrival. The Dutch small boy can be a real factor in changing the gameplan of the team. The notable player to leave the team was Julio Baptista who went to Roma. Calderón claims that this is a season where Real Madrid consolidate their position and status in La Liga and continue to build on what they had last term. Real Madrid would not have wanted their season to start with a defeat against the Valencia in the Super Cup match last week .Also their preseason results are not upto the mark. They will be hoping to continue to dominate the Spanish league yet another time but it cannot be possible this time.

Cristiano Ronaldo back to training

The Manchester United star player Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to training with his team after he was out for a more than a month following the ankle surgery that he underwent after the Euro competition that took place in June. The player is expected to return in October and his team is in need of his services at the most as they are facing a series of away games against the giants of the English football namely Chelsea and Liverpool this month which could decide the title race for the team. The Portugal ace starred in the double winning Manchester United team last season when he scored a total of 43 goals last season and is tipped to be the World Player of the Year this time. South Korean international Park Ji-Sung and Owen Hargreaves also returned to training this morning, although Monday’s clash with Portsmouth comes too early for the pair.

Chelsea increase Robinho Bid

There are reports that Chelsea have increased their bid on the Real Madrid forward Robinho in just two weeks time . The reports tell that Chelsea has increased the bid to £28.4 million in just a week after Real MAdrid rejected their earlier bid of £25 million last week which was £5.5 million more than the orginal bid . Chelsea is quite interested in the player and want the move to be done but the Real Madrid president has already stated clearly that the player is “non-transferable”. All the speculation of this started out after the Real Madrid player was quoted that he is not happy that his full talents are being used in the Bernabou. Chelsea have bid for the largest number of players this season but they have been able to sign just the couple of players in Deco and Boswinga. Robinho’s arrival at Chelsea would no doubt rekindle speculation concerning the futures of Joe Cole and Shaun Wright-Phillips, who are already battling for a spot in Scolari’s starting XI.

Vidic suprised

Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic says that he was quite surpirsed when the announcement of the transfer of his counterpart Silvestre to the rivals Arsenal. Silvestre was a profile of the winning Manchester United team for a long time. Vidic says that the news came as a surprise to him and infact to all his teammates. The signing of Silvestre is the first direct signing between the two rivals since 1987, when Viv Anderson moved north to become one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s first recruits as United boss. Vidic says “Mikael has given so much to this club. I am just surprised he is going to Arsenal. But he has made the choice.” Though Silvestre has been denied of the first team chance at Old Trafford Vidic says that Silvestre is a class player.
