UEFA shortlists 20 players

Twenty players have been shortlisted for the UEFA club footballer of the year. Double Champions Manchester United has the most number of contenstants with six in number. Chelsea has five, Liverpool four , Arsenal and Barcelona a couple each and Schalke 04 has a single contestant. Of the 20 players shortlisted 17 are from the English clubs and this shows the dominance of the English football. The English clubs have been able to secure three out of the four postions in the semifinals of the Champions League matches for the past two years. Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool sensation Fernando Torres are having a chance of winning the award. The contestants are :

Official : Andriy Shevchenko to Milan

After much speculation Andriy Shevchenko has completed his move from Chelsea to A.C.Milan and the deal went as Milan wanted it . So both Milan and Andriy Shevchenko are very much happy. Andriy Shevchenko’s two year period in England has been very much disturbing for the player as he couldn’t shine in England. After the move was made official the first words that the player spoke was ” It feels as if I have won the Champions League” . The Ukranian has previously played for Milan from 1999-2006 and in the period he scored 127 goals in 208 games . In his Chelsea carrer the player scored 9 goals in 47 games .
